Edward J. Allera

Ed Allera is the former co-chair of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s  FDA group, with a career dedicated to healthcare as both a pharmacist and an attorney. Ed began his law career at the FDA, where he served as associate chief counsel. Ed is highly respected in the pharma/biotech industry for his ability to integrate science and law, making him the go-to person in critical situations.

Ed's is a co-founder and board member of the Value Added Medicines Alliance and a board member of the FDA’s Reagan-Udall Foundation. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2021 for FDA Law and recognized by Chambers USA since 2022 as a leading Healthcare: Pharmaceutical/Medical Products Regulatory lawyer in Washington, DC.
